You can use almost any stitch to make a blanket. Some of the most common stitches found in these Christmas blankets are:

  1. Single Crochet (sc)
  2. Half Double Crochet (hdc)
  3. Double Crochet (dc)

If you’d like to make a tighter stitch blanket, in which you’d use something like a single crochet (sc) stitch. And on the other hand, if you want a looser one, you can move up to a half-double (hdc) or double crochet (dc) stitch.
