The Yarn That’s Perfect for This Pattern.

A couple of weeks ago while yarn shopping at Michaels I found the prettiest yarn from Lion Brand called Moonlight which is part of the Thick & Quick yarn line. I was instantly drawn to the colors!

Check out the yarn below and let me know what you think.

This colorway is becoming one of my favorites (behind Hudson Bay, of course) because of its self-striping blue, gray, white, and light brown subtle hues.

After debating, I decided to call this pattern the “Moonlight Ear Warmer” since it reminds me of a moonlit night sky. Do you see it too?

Check Headband Gauge for Proper Fit

Once you start this pattern, I would suggest checking your gauge to make sure you get the proper fit. If you do need to make it bigger or smaller, use a starting chain in a multiple of two to change the size of the headband.

  1. This is an excellent easy quick pattern. I did an additional round of slip stitches for the end round to make both sides more even size and left a longer tail for a bigger knot on the cinch. Thanks for the pattern!

    1. I am so glad you liked this ear warmer pattern Courtney! Good idea about the slip stitches to give it more of a finished look. 🙂 Have a great week!

  2. I just made my first one and had to make more chains so it would fit my head and I have a pretty small head. Also when I was done mine only measured 3.5″ high. Is anyone else having this issue or know what I may have done wrong?

    1. Hi Amber,
How many stitches do you have for every 2″ of your headband? It should be approximately 3 stitches for every 2 inches. Also if you are working with a different yarn that can change the finished size too.

  3. Thnks so much for this very easy pattern. I put buttons on the ones i made. I made 7 n no time. I`m fairly new to crocheting and the easier the better. I`m teaching myself to read patterns. That is something i was never taught. My mom tryed to teach me to crochet but now that i`m older i have more patience and friends to help me when i dont understand the pattern. Thnks for the pattern and will be looking forward to more patterns to come.
