I promise this little crochet newborn beanie crochets up adorable! It uses a super bulky yarn, so it works up extremely fast, which is always a plus.
I used Loops & Threads Cozy Wool, but any bulky yarn like Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick would work.

Crochet Newborn Hat Pattern
Materials
- Super Bulky Weight Yarn (6) I used Loops & Threads Cozy Wool in Moss.
- Crochet Hook Size N 9.00MM
- Yarn Needle
- Stitch Marker
Abbreviations
- CH = Chain
- SC = Single Crochet
- SC2tog = Single Crochet Two Together
- BL= Back Loop

- Written in Standard US Terms
Band Pattern Steps
BAND:
- Ch 5, Starting in the 2nd CH from Hook do 4 SC Across. Turn.
- CH 1, * SC in BL across the row, turn, Ch 1, Repeat from * 25 Times.
(the band should measure approximately 13 inches) Leave long tail , fasten off and sew together ends of bands to form a loop. Weave in loose ends with yarn needle.
Main Hat Pattern Steps
NOTES: Use a stitch marker to mark your stitches at every round
ROUND 1-5: attach yarn to top of band. Do* 28 SC around. Repeat from * for a total of 5 Times
ROUND 6: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 2 SC
ROUND 7 & 8: SC in every stitch around
ROUND 9: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 1 SC
ROUND 10 & 11: SC in every stitch around
ROUND 12: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 1 SC
ROUND 13 & 14: SC in every stitch around
ROUND 15: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 2 SC
ROUND 16 & 17 SC in every stitch around
ROUND 18: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 4 SC
ROUND 19 & 20: SC in every stitch around
ROUND 21: * SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 2 SC
ROUND 22-25: SC in every stitch around
ROUND 26: SC2tog, SC in the next 3 Stitches, repeat from * until end. End with 1 SC
ROUND 27: SC in every stitch around. Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
Pom Pom Pattern Steps
I used a pom pom maker from Amazon and have a tutorial on how to use one if it is needed. “Click Here” to check out the free pom pom maker tutorial.
I attached the pom pom to the top of the hat using the yarn needle and wrapped the long ends around the top. (make sure to weave in ends)
