Are you looking for a beginner step-by-step crochet heart pattern? If so then this crochet heart design is for you!

This pink and red heart free crochet pattern can be added to any project as an appliqué, given with a card for Mother’s Day or even strung together to be hung up as a Valentine’s Day garland.

Read on down to find out how to make your very own crochet heart today!

Happy Crochet Heart Making!

Small Free Crochet Heart Pattern

To begin the heart pattern gather a crochet hook (that corresponds to the yarn you are using) and some yarn scraps. You can also use a new skein of yarn to begin with. If you decided to use scraps or a new ball of yarn either way you are ready to start crocheting a heart.

The Yarn

You will want to use some medium weight yarn to crochet this heart design. I used yarn scraps of Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Pink & Magenta for my sample that I had left over from other projects. If you cannot find or do not have these colors any two colors of pink would work well.

This heart pattern is easy to make, a cute project and a scrap buster! It’s a win-win!

Need a substitute yarn?

Instead of Vanna’s Choice try Lion Brand Basic Stitch or Caron Simply Soft.

Don’t hesitate to try different colors, brands, thickness’s of yarn scraps because this heart can easily be made using endless color and yarn combinations.

For this heart, do you start with a slip knot or magic circle? Thanks.
