The Yarn That’s Perfect For a Doily
As for the yarn that you’ll want to use, I suggest Vanna’s Choice by Lion Brand! I made this doily in one color (I used Vanna’s Choice in Silver Heather), but you can use multiple colors for a great stash buster project.

Patterns Using This →This Pattern Has Other Great Home Uses Too!
This pattern can be used for many other home decoration projects as well! You could use this for a wall hanging since this is a reasonably large doily pattern! Just attach to a stick, and you’d have wall decor!
I could even see this as a pillow too! Just make two, use a pillow insert, seam them together, and you are good to go. If you do make one of these, I’d love to see it!

I am more than happy to assist in any way possible.
I am working row 14 don’t know what it means skip 6 chains
Hi Beverly,
That was supposed to say skip six stitches instead of six chains. I updated the pattern to reflect that. Thanks for finding that!

For round 7, ch3 then ch2, is that essentially a ch5 to start or am I misunderstanding?
Hi Julie,
Yes, it is, but I wanted to separate them, so it was understood that the ch 2 was part of the pattern and not a starting chain which does not count as a stitch.
Krista
What “working in back loops” mean, in row 4?
Hi Jola,
Here is an explanation of back loop and front loop crochet that may help. https://easycrochet.com/back-loop-crochet-vs-front-loop-crochet/
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Hi. I am making this right now but am stuck on row 14. What does *dc, chain 3, dc in chain of first double crochet* mean? I don’t know where to place the stitch.
Hi,
You place the second dc into the same space as the first dc. The dc, ch 3, and dc are worked into the same stitch.

Hello,
Thanks for answering my questions! I almost forgot to check back. I’m going to go search my stash so I can get started on this. Than you for sharing your pattern.
Laurie
Hello,
One more question. Is the chain three considered the first dc?
Thanks!
Hi Laurie,
The chain 3 does not count as a stitch.
Krista
Hello,
Where you slip stitch to the first double crochet are you then starting the next round in that same stitch?
Hi! 🙂
Yes, you start the round in the same stitch you slip stitch into.
Happy Crocheting!
