The Yarn That is Great For A Crochet Square

Just like me, I’m sure you have a ton of scrap yarn left over from past projects to use for this project!

I decided to use Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice because of the choice of colors and the durability of the yarn!

I usually use Vanna’s Choice because for me it’s because the yarn has to be able to handle and make it through the use of three kids!

  1. Hi Krista,
I was very interested in several of the 9 Easy Granny Squares for Beginners you sent in your last news letter.
However I am NOT able to print ANY of the patterns.
    Curious as to why?

  2. Hi Krista, I have looked at a lot of videos on crochet squares, and they usually count the first ch3 as the first double crochet of the next loop. I’ve been getting 1 additional stitch per round and I think this may be the reason. Can you verify if the pattern needs to be modified?

  3. Hi. I’m a beginner. 🙂 Please can you tell me where exactly is “You will always slip stitch into the first double crochet” ?
    Thank you! 🙂

      1. Hi,

Thank you for your response! 🙂
To be sure in which stitch must to make a slip stitch I uploaded an image http://s17.postimg.org/ggac13tjj/2016_02_08_23_13_04.jpg

Hope you understand something from there. 😀 So to make a slip stitch I put in 4th chain or where exactly? I did 16 stitches (without to make a chain after double crochet at final, is that ok? because if I make a chain, it will be 17 stitches…) Or I’m understanding wrong about difference between stitch and chain…

        One more question:
“chain 4, in 4th chain from hook ” – I understand that I must make 2 dc in 4th chain”
“chain 3, in first stitch do 2 double crochets” – which is the first stitch? the 4th chain?

Sorry for these things! 🙂 But I really want to understand. 🙂 Thank you so much!
