• Caron Simply Soft or any medium weight #4 yarn

• Older Child, Small Adult
• 19″ Circumference & 8.5″ Height

Notes

• Slip stitch does not count as a chain (skip it).
• You can use a magic circle instead of the foundation ring method to begin this hat.

Open Lace Crochet Hat Pattern

• Round 1: Chain 4, 10 Double Crochets in the fourth chain from the hook, Slip Stitch to top of Chain 4.
• Round 2: Chain 3, Ch 1. Double Crochet in same Stitch. Chain 2, Skip next Chain *Double Crochet, Chain 1, Double Crochet all in next stitch. Repeat from * around. End with 1 Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 3.
• Round 3: Chain 3, Dc in next Chain, Ch 1, *Skip a Chain, Double Crochet in Next, Chain 1. Repeat from * around. End with 1 Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 3.

{BACK VIEW}

• Round 4-11: Repeat Round 3.
• Round 12: Chain 2, Sc in same stitch. *Skip 1 Chain, {Half Double Crochet, Single Crochet all in next stitch} Repeat From * around. End with 1 Half Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 2. Fasten off.
