Open Lace Crochet Hat
Elise recently had been asking me for a hat that was “pretty” and didn’t make her so hot that she had to take it off.
I designed the Open Lace Crochet hat per her request, and she was thrilled!
This new hat pattern features an open stitch and adds a delicate twist to a traditional crochet hat. Now on to the pattern…
Open Lace Crochet Hat Beanie Pattern
Skill Level: Easy
Shopping List
- Size H 5 mm Crochet Hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
- Caron Simply Soft or any medium weight #4 yarn
Finished Size
- Older Child, Small Adult
- 19″ Circumference & 8.5″ Height
Notes
- Slip stitch does not count as a chain (skip it).
- You can use a magic circle instead of the foundation ring method to begin this hat.
Open Lace Crochet Hat Pattern
- Round 1: Chain 4, 10 Double Crochets in the fourth chain from the hook, Slip Stitch to top of Chain 4.
- Round 2: Chain 3, Ch 1. Double Crochet in same Stitch. Chain 2, Skip next Chain *Double Crochet, Chain 1, Double Crochet all in next stitch. Repeat from * around. End with 1 Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 3.
- Round 3: Chain 3, Dc in next Chain, Ch 1, *Skip a Chain, Double Crochet in Next, Chain 1. Repeat from * around. End with 1 Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 3.
{BACK VIEW}
- Round 4-11: Repeat Round 3.
- Round 12: Chain 2, Sc in same stitch. *Skip 1 Chain, {Half Double Crochet, Single Crochet all in next stitch} Repeat From * around. End with 1 Half Double Crochet and Slip Stitch to top of Chain 2. Fasten off.
{WEAVE IN LOOSE ENDS WITH YARN NEEDLE AND YOU ARE DONE!!!}
